Those were the words I heard. "I'll Take Care of the Rest... Right in the middle of all hell breaking loose. I was broken and couldn't take anymore. Have you ever been there? I was getting ready for work and the whole house was in utter chaos. I don't know if it was the laundry piled a mile high or the dishes. But in the middle of all the screaming that's when I heard God say, "I'll take care of the rest."
Those words were like music to my ears and my heart sang, I heard God speak.
Then all of the sudden it was like a neon light came on in my head as the word REST illuminated. I kept seeing it over and over. Flashing on and off in my head. It was like God was trying to tell me something. I knew I needed to go to God.
It was that word. Rest. "I'll take care of the rest of this", He said. Have you ever heard anyone say that to you? Well, I have. Usually, it's just before the table needs to be cleaned off and someone speaks up and says, "I'll take care of the rest, go ahead." I continue to meditate on that word, REST. And I finally made it to the bible and did a word search.
And just like that, God started speaking as I started reading.
In Matthew 11:28. God said, "Are you tired?" Worn out? Come to me Get away with me and I will recover your life and show you how to take a REAL REST! Oh God, you are my salvation. My refuge. My REST. Lord, you are my rock and strength. I had forgotten and allowed my circumstances to become bigger than my God.
My God is bigger than any circumstance I was facing and He is bigger than anything your facing too.
Then he brought me to Psalm 116:6-8. I was brought low and He saved me. Return to your REST! Oh my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with me. For you, my God has rescued my life from death, healed my tears, and kept me from falling. Simply put the Lord protects you and me.
He was telling me Go sit down, I'll take care of the rest of this." No matter what we are facing today or tomorrow He's got our back and if we will RETURN to Him and just sit in His presence He will give each of us REST for the weary.
Decide & Declare: Dear Heavenly Father Thank you for your protection. Thank you for healing me and my tears. I refuse to let my circumstance be bigger than you. Thank you for an abundant life as I stand on your word you give me REAL REST. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
In Him, I wait,
Lori
